Wes Nichols is upbeat about Windsor

WINDSOR CC captain Wes Nichols believes his side played 'very well' despite a four wicket defeat at Amersham last weekend in Division One.

An unbeaten 94 from Wes Van Den Berg helped Windsor set a score of 223-7 at Shardeloes.

However, a career best innings of 67 not out from Chris Cann helped the home side chase the runs down with seven balls to spare.

Nichols said: "We played very well. We batted very well and once again the likes of Ben Harris bowled well.

"Amersham just played that little bit better but I am pleased we were able to take them all the way."

This weekend Windsor travel to May's Bounty cricket ground to take on Basingstoke & North Hants who got a winning draw against High Wycombe 2nds last weekend.

After being relegated from the Home Counties Premier Cricket League last summer Basingstoke only find themselves in a mid-table posistion in Division One, nine points ahead of Windsor.

Nichols added: "Basingstoke is a good wicket to bat on from memory.

"Although they have had some good results in the last few weeks perhaps they haven't played as well this season as they thought they would have.

"I am pretty confident we will do well and get a result."
