Windsor continue to aim high

WINDSOR Cricket Club will not be resting on their laurels next year after their title winning exploits.

The Thames Valley League Division 2a champions want to be heading for the Home Counties Premier League according to skipper Wes Nichols.

"We will be looking to win Div One next year, not just going into it trying to be competitive and I believe that we can do it," stated Nichols.

"When I took over this job two seasons ago I didn't expect us to be doing what we are doing now until 2010 or 2011 so we have exceeded my expectations," said the captain.

"We've got some exceptional players at this club - George Gould and Kris Baumgartner who is still under-15 are coming through and he has proved he is ready already.

"This club needed to be promoted to test these guys and the guys already in the first team like Mark Huggins, Bevan Malloch, Benny Harris and Adam Weston. Div 2a got a bit to easy and we need to be tested in Div One."
