A GLORIOUS season came to an end with another victory for Windsor, this time over local rivals Datchet.

The visitors are one of only a few sides to have beaten the Home Park outfit this year and with just pride on the line it looked like it might be a similar story again.

Datchet won the toss and smashed the bowling round the park, led by skipper Nick Tilley (87), as they posted 223-6 before declaring after just 40 overs.

His opposite number, Wes Nichols picked up 2-56 and Ben Harris 2-67.

The hosts gave some youngsters - Vishal Nair (19) and Kristian Baumgartner (29) - some time in the middle but it was left to Bevan Malloch (52 not out) and Nichols (32 not out) to see Windsor through o victory on 221-5.

It meant that Windsor won the league by a massive 78 points but Datchet slipped to third in the table.

"It was good," remarked Nichols. "They made a game of it because they could have gone on and got 300 but we didn't want to lose our last game of the season so would have just batted out the 48 overs. I think it was pretty good, aggressive captaincy from Nick (Tilley) who took his chances.

"At the end of the day we managed to pull it off. It was an absolute belter of a deck and we had the rub of the green."
