WINDSOR were forced to settle for a draw at Beaconsfield's second XI as luck was not on their side.

The hosts won the toss and chose to bat first but were soon in trouble as Windsor made some early breakthroughs thanks to captain Wes Nichols (4-39) and Brendan Kemp (1-18).

However, as the deck flattened, life became easier for the batsmen and it became a lot easier when Windsor were down in the field. Adam Weston split the webbing in his finger going for a sharp chance so was taken to hospital and this was added to Tom Hartridge who was already nursing a broken finger.

Beacs managed to find the gaps and ended on 229-9 with Luke Wright top scoring on 54. Ben Harris (2-28) bowled well in difficult conditions for the visitors who made a decent start with the bat.

At 101-3 at drinks it was game on but the home side did not pile the pressure on and Windsor did not chance their arm too much being down to nine batsman and the matche petered out into a draw with Nichols unbeaten on 45 and Mark Huggins (67) continuing his rich vein.
