Windsor retain East Berks Cup

CHRISTIAN Baumgartner helped Windsor retain the East Berkshire Evening League Cup with a man of the match display as they beat Windsor Great Park on Wednesday night.

Batting first, the Thames Valley League outfit blasted 213-4 from their 20 overs with Wes Nichols, captain of the side Adam Weston and Baumgartner all scoring more than 25 before retiring.

Baumgartner, 15, then picked up two wickets as Windsor Great Park were restricted to 143-6 but they carried on bravely, never giving up the chase with Russell Cox leading the way.

Weston said: "I was pretty impressed with it. We wanted to take it seriously having been knocked over in our last group game. We won it last year so wanted to win it again.

"Young Christian Baumgartner played very well. I was impressed by him."
