DATCHET skipper Nick Tilley praised Windsor's relentless winning streak but insisted that his side will keep fighting to the end.
The Home Park side have lost just twice all season and seem to keep producing maximum points like they did on Saturday to extend their lead at the top of Division 2a to 48 points with five games to go, but Datchet also chalked up a win to stay second.
"Another 25 points for Windsor, it's pretty incredible really - fair play to them," said Tilley.
"We thought we had done well to get 20, but then we saw that they got 25. The league doesn't lie, they are playing very well."
Tomorrow (Saturday) Datchet are at home to Bagshot, while Windsor host Marlow and third-placed Basingstoke & North Hants 2s are at home to Beaconsfield's second XI.
"If we are to keep in contact with Windsor we must win, but it's going to be difficult. I cannot see Windsor slipping up," admitted Tilley.
"Never say never, we've just got to keep winning if we can and see what happens. We've still got to play Windsor which is always a bonus but I cannot see them dropping enough points."
Windsor skipper Wes Nichols saw his side win their third game on the bounce against bottom of the table Cove 2s, but it was a far from polished performance, with the captain not happy with the fielding as five dropped catches nearly cost them dear.
He remarked: "We are due a loss, we are playing poorly at the moment, we really are.
"We cannot string together two innings. We aren't batting, bowling or fielding well at the same time. They are the three disciplines we are going to have to put together all at the same time if we are lucky enough to be in Division One next year."
Although the skipper is still not counting his chickens, he added: "Until we turn up Monday morning with lots more points on the board and it is mathematical certainty I won't think we are there.
"We are going to have to do a lot better against Marlow on Saturday."
