LEAGUE leaders Windsor were blown away by local rivals Datchet in a one-sided affair as skipper Nick Tilley led from the front.

It was a wake up call for Windsor who toiled in the field, havign to bowl 52 overs for the first time this season after Tilley won the toss and chose to bat first.

The skipper anchored the innings with 97 and received good support from Mark George before he was run out and Alldis who was bowled round his legs by Ben Harris (2-75) after a flurry of boundaries.

The runs continued to flow as Arun Oram and Tom Jones played aggressively and Luke Shepherd played well to take the score up to 260-8 after Tilley got out tamely just short of his century. Rahul Mohindru was the only bowler to stem the flow with 4-45.

Tilley remarked: 'It was a good win, in fairness we did well to win the toss. We"ve seen that Windsor have put pressure on sides with their bowling attack so we were happy to bat first without the pressure of havign to keep up with the run rate and set a total. That"s what we did. It was enjoyable, it always is against Windsor.

'Their off-spinner (Ben Harris) turned the ball quite a long way so we knew if our spinners were to bowl well, we"d have a chance.

'It was just me and Tim (Alldis), we bowled pretty well. Early on they looked comfortable with Wes (Nichols) and (Oliver) Birch and after Mark Huggins went they capitulated a little bit.'

Datchet took the old ball and after a comfortable start by Wes Nichols (33) and Birch (17) it went down hill. Vishal Nair (19) and Mark Huggins (22) also made starts but Windsor then lost seven wickets for just 25 runs.

Alldis (5-44) and Tilley (4-74) bowled through the innings unchanged with the spin twins doing the damage as the visitors were knocked over for 128.

'It had to happen at some time,' commented Nichols after Windsor"s run of seven wins in a row. 'The better side won without any shadow of a doubt, we just didn"t compete in any facet of the game.

'No one in the top six did what Nick Tilley did and made a big score.

'It"s a wonderful batting deck, I think we bowled as well as we could have, we beat the bat a few times early on but we just couldn"t get the edge and take full advantage of that. There was about three or four crucial partnerships between Nick and his middle-order.'
