JAMES Wensley made a magnificent unbeaten 81 to help Royal Ascot to a crushing nine-wicket win at home to Burnham 2s on Saturday.

Kevin May (6-61) had earlier starred with the ball as the hosts restricted their opponents to 190-8 from 44 overs.

With Wensley, Jack Kendall (56) and captain Nick Sweetman (44*) all in good nick Ascot cruised to victory to remain fourth in Division 2b.

Slough 2s kept pace with the leading pack after a four-wicket win against Thatcham Town at Upton Court Road.

Thatcham were bowled out for 184 after 51.4 overs before Slough secured victory in 43 overs and for the loss of six wickets (186-6).

North Maidenhead dropped a position to fourth in Division 2a after a heavy 10-wicket defeat at the hands of Finchampstead 2s.

The visitors posted 127 all out from 33 overs with opener Saeed Bukhari (36) and Sahaan John (24) providing the backbone to the innings.

Max Stevenson and Andy Lazenbury were the leading bowlers for Finchampstead with figures of 4-34 and 3-25 respectively.

The home team needed only 19.3 overs to secure the win at 128-0.

Andrew House smashed 75* from 66 balls, and innings which included 10 fours and a six, while Russell Lane finished unbeaten on 48*.

A five-wicket haul (5-22) from Thomas Crick of Harefield 2s helped inflict an eight-wicket defeat on Maidenhead & Bray.

Maidenhead made 107 from 37.2 overs with Simon Ball (38) and Brett Van Niekerk (19) the only batsman to reach double figures.

Dale Morris (3-36) and Jordan McLeod (2-13) backed up the bowling of star man, Crick.

In reply, Harefield reached 111-2 in 19 overs for victory. Matthew Lench finished unbeaten on 43 while David O’Sullivan added 40.

Datchet 2s climbed to the top of Division 3b after a 54-run home win against Ruislip, who slip into the relegation places.

Vishal Aeri made 24 and Peter Singh 20 as Datchet were all out for 109 in 35.4 overs. Mark Windsor led the Ruislip bowling attack with figures of 4-19.

Nick Kenny then orchestrated the win with an incredible 8-22 from 13 overs as the visiting team were dismissed for 55 in reply.

Slough 3s moved into the promotion places in Division 4a following a five-wicket victory against Chesham 3s at Upton Court Road.

Bowling first, Humza Majid (4-55), Anwar Khan (2-29) and Sheyrar Baig (2-61) all claimed wickets as Chesham reached 174-9 from their allotted 52 overs. Captain Graham Rance was unbeaten on 58.

Geyhas Khan provided the backbone to Slough’s reply with 103 runs from 137 balls –- a ton that included 14 boundaries. The hosts closed on 175-5 in the 44th over for victory.

Windsor 2s dropped one place to third after a six-wicket defeat away at Wycombe Dragons.

Sam Jordan top-scored with 53 and Umar Malik made 37 as Windsor posted 179 from 46.2 overs.

It was not a big enough total though as the Dragons hit 180-4 after 42 overs for the victory. Sajid Zaib finished with an unbeaten century (117*) while Kalpit Vachhni recorded figures of 2-24.

Burnham 3s registered a 26-run win at home to Hillingdon Manor to move into the top-half of the table.

Opening batsman Imran Aziz (65) and Mudassar Nawaz (74) hit the majority of the hosts’ 219-9 total, whilste Syed Naman Ali took 6-59 for Hillingdon.

In reply, Hillingdon fell short on 193 all out after one ball of the 45th over. Nawaz (3-45) and Dawood Baig (3-57) took three wickets apiece, while Joel Shopland made 57 for the losing side.

Stoke Green 2s remain in the Division 4b promotion places after a winning draw at home to Farnham Royal, who drop two places to fifth in the table.

Batting first, Stoke closed on 216-9 from their allotted 52 overs with Kabir Parmar the leading run scorer with 61. Eshwar Dutta (3-40) and Ben Pulsford (3-58) led the bowling attack.

Farnham closed on 156-7 after in reply. Jack Barton made 72.
