WINDSOR, Slough, Eton & Hounslow AC has been named the UK's top track and field athletics club.

WSEH were awarded the title by the national periodical Athletics Weekly for their outstanding performances over the 2011 summer season.

The club's incredible year saw them crowned Jo Smith Cup champions against the top combined men's and ladie's teams and National Young Athletics League Final runners-up in Birmingham.

WSEH also finished third in the UK Womens League Premier Division and Division One of the British Mens League, as well as ending the National Under 20 League Final in Derby in fourth position.

However It was their overall performance across the age range that won them the honours, clearly demonstrating their development policies are in a healthy state, a stand-out accolade considering the club do not receive any sponsorship or financial input from the sports governing bodies.

In addition the club's athletes are also achieving at the highest level with Nicola Sanders, Nigel Levine and Lawrence Clarke all competing for Great Britain at the World Championships in South Korea.

Decathlete Ashley Bryant was in action during China's World Student Games and all four are prime contenders for GB's 2012 London Olympics team.
