WSEH stride towards National Junior League Finals

Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow AC moved a step closer to booking their place in September's National Junior League Final's with a second place finish in the Southern Premier Division at Bromley on Sunday.

WSEH challenged for top spot throughout the afternoon but were eventually beaten by 17 points by Shaftesbury Barnet AC.

On the track, Aleasha Kiddle proved to be best of the sprinters finishing third in the 100 metres (m) with a time of 12.4 seconds (secs), and second over 200m with 25.49secs. Laura Burke won the 200m B race in 25.56.

Jessica Knight won the 400m in 56.60 with Leah Barrow taking the B race in 58.15.

Lolu Oluwole-Ojo produced a promising debut over 400m, claiming second in 49.72 before Paul Cave finished third in the B race with 51.38.

Over 800m Zak Curran dominated to win in 1:54.14 with Connor Vine second with 1:59.16.

Alex Goodall clocked a new personal best (pb) in the 1,500m, finishing third in 4:09.88. Jack String took second in the B division with 4:18.94.

Khalid Al-Abaidy continued the trend over 3,000m with third place in 9:16.72 with Ben Kennard winning the B string in 9:22.03.

The 400m hurdles saw a superb win for Emily Barrett in 1:06.17 with 16 year old Demi Barrance third in a new pb of 1:16.77. Paul Cave was the best of the men finishing third in 56.75.

Finally, Jess Knight, Leah Barrow, Laura Burke and Emily Barrett won the ladies 4x400m relay in a new club record of 3:53.94, beating the old record by five seconds.

In the field, David Harvey jumped 6m81 to finish third in the long jump, while Kariym Irving won the B division with 6m43. Irving also finished runner-up in the high jump with 1m90 with David Walker filling the same spot in the B with 1m75.

Jonny Sawyers took second in the triple jump with 14m70 and the best result for the ladies came in the pole vault where Alice Humble was third with 3m20.

The trowing events produced a glut of points for the local athletes with Gareth Winter the star performer.

Winter won the shot put with 16m51, finished second in the discus with a throw of 50m48, and won the B hammer with 43m43.

Irving won the B shot put with a new pb of 14m99 and Ryan Barrett won the B discus with 47m02.

Sixteen year old Taylor Campbell finished third in the hammer with a new pb throw of 56m95.

Hanah Johnson won the ladies javelin with 36m15, while Laura James and Ellie Norris finished third in the discus with 37m71 and 27m29 respectively.
