Pryer puts in excellent performance

Helen Pryer in action for WSEH.

HELEN Pryer continues to impress as the Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow sprinter claimed more glory at the weekend.

Like a fine wine, she is improving with age and was rewarded with her first international vest when she competed in the Avia Indoor International in Glasgow.

Representing Great Britain, Pryer was fourth in the 200m in 24.62 seconds, with LaShauntea Moore of the USA claiming first place in 23.65 in the televised event.

WSEH had good representation in the London Indoor Games at the Lee Valley Stadium over the weekend. Star performer was Lawrence Clarke who set a senior club record in winning the 60m hurdles in 7.72.

Another WSEH hurdler to shine was Sam Maguire who won the under-17 race in 8.33. He also went on to score another victory in the 200m in 23.34.

The talented Morgan Lake defeated opponents up to three years her senior in winning the under-17 long jump with 5.34m.

WSEH also scored in the under-20 mens long jump as David Harvey was third with 6.48m.

Decathlon specialist Ashley Bryant contested four events, his best placing came in the under-20 60m hurdles with second place in 8.52.

Other WSEH athletes to impress were Chloe Mays who won her under-20 60m race in 7.99. Shelayna Oskan was third in the senior 400m in 56.26 and Dawn Hunt took third in the senior 800m in 2.10.15.
