ANOTHER successful medal winning afternoon was enjoyed by Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow at the Surrey Cross Country Relays at Stoke Park, Guildford on Saturday.

They claimed the overall team prize for the second year running thanks to top performances from all.

The under-17 boys stole the show with a gold medal against strong Hercules Wimbledon and Epsom teams having bounced back from last week's disappointing display.

Zak Curran ran an excellent first leg, finishing second in a great time of 7 minutes 11 seconds. Elliott Woolmer then stormed past the leading Wimbledon runner in a time of 7.04 - the equal second fastest of the day - shared by last leg runner, Nathan Ditton, who easily held off Wimbdledon's star athlete on the last leg.

The B team just missed out on a medal when finishing 4th, with club debutante, Shane Streeter starring whilst running 7.23. The other members of the team were Gari Brown (7.55) and Connor Vine (7.38).

The under-13 boys team repeated their medal winning exploits from last week. They were led off by Giles Robinson (8.25), followed by George Gathercole (8.40) but it was Gos Cockle who took them from sixth to second with a stormign last leg of 7.53 - the third fastest in his age group.

Further medals were won by the under-15 boys team of James Watson (7.44), Ben Bradley and up and comign star Callum Todd (7.23) in the second fastest time of this age group to claim silver.

The under-15 girls team were unexpected bronze medal winners. Ruth Bourne (8.02) ran the second fastest time overall, followed up by Emma Maurer (8.46) and Joanne Fallon (8:45).

To confirm the club's overall victory, the under-17 girls just needed a top 12 finish and the team of Laura Suggitt (9:38), Sarah Spears (10:17) and Emily Wilkinson (10:43) finishing eighth.
