Croft breaks another club record

WINDSOR, Slough, Eton & Hounslow failed to defend their Alder Valley Girls Trophy as they finished third in the final at Hillingdon on Sunday.

Reading claimed second place but the new champions are now Guildford & Godalming.

In the under-13 girls, Becca Croft finished her track and field season with yet another club record in the 1,000m, coming home second in 3 minutes 7.9 seconds.

Morgan Lake continued her successes with a PB in the 75m (10.2), a league record in the shot (11.15m) and victory in the 70m hurdles in 11.6.

Olivia Saligoi pipped the A-string athlete, Tilly Compton-Stewart, by the smallest of margins, to win the A 600m. Saligoi, with 1.55.0 and Compton-Stewart, 1.55.1, both scored firsts.

Eleanor Boatman and Alejandra Gomez both tasted success and there were personal bests for Jessica Judd, Gemma Burgin, Chantal Banton, Lucy McLaughlan and Briannah Miller-Christie.

There was a mixed bag of results in the under-15s with successes in the long jump for Georgie Haynes (4.74m) and Ana Inverary (4.32m). Some PBs of note were Harriet Walters in the 200m (29.8), Imogen Eddings, stepping into the 1,500m with 6.02.6, Hannah James, in the hammer, with 9.72m and finally Sarah Hing, achieved two in the shot (5.42m) and discus (16.42m).

There were some good performance in the under-ladies with Claire Hing securing a first in the long jump (4.67m). Maria Gomez secured another first and a PB in the triple jump (9.30m).

In the throws, Tara Barrett was successful in the shot (9.37m PB), Jenny Yoxall had success in the discus (20.63m) with seconds in the shot and javelin (32.17m PB). Another thrower, Ellie Norris, gained a PB in the discus (27.64m) and won the hammer.

Sarah Phelps and Charlotte Banks also produced their best in the 300m hurdles 100m respectively.
