SOME 30 Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow (WSEH) Athletics Club stars made the short trip to Bracknell to compete in the Young Athletes Open Meeting.

The star performer was James Badham who notched a winning double in the under-15 (U15) 100 metres (m) with 12.22 seconds (secs) and 200m in 24.97secs.

Joseph Caesar was another sprint winner in the U13 100m in 14.16secs.

Laurie Sutcliffe just missed top spot in the 80m hurdles with his second place in 14.16secs.

Another WSEH athlete to shine was Abby Masquelier who won the U15 girls’ 70m hurdles in 11.92secs, with Isla Brown in third place on 13.43secs.

Alissia Merry was another to finish in third position, this time in the 200m in 28.02secs.

The female field events provided more success. Liliana Burn won the U15 discus with 23.74m and then went on to place third in the hammer with a personal best of 31.44m.

Another WSEH hammer thrower to make her mark was Francesca Williams who placed second in the U17 event with a distance of 49.26m.
