ATHLETES from Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow (WSEH) Athletics Club were amongst the medal winners at the South of England Indoor Championships at the Lea Valley Stadium.

It was the WSEH pole vaulters that were on form. Euan Bryden won the senior event with an excellent 5.00 metre (m) clearance. Jasmine Presho was the silver medallist in the under-20 (U20) ladies event with her personal-best equalling 3.20m.

The long jump event provided another silver medal, this time for Sam Challis in the U20 event with a leap of 6.74m.

The third WSEH medal of the day came in the senior ladies 60m hurdles where Amber Leigh-Hall took bronze with her time of 8.65 seconds (secs). Ellie Bisland came third in the U20 60m ladies semi-final in 7.76secs.

  • WSEH will now have seven athletes competing in the Commonwealth Games at Queensland, Australia in mid-April.

Jacob Paul has been named in the England team for the 400m hurdles, while Ben Reynolds goes in the 100m hurdles for Northern Ireland.

The two joined the already named Ashley Bryant (decathlon), Rachel Wallader (shot), Shelayna Oskan-Clarke (800m) and Morgan Lake (high jump).

  • A HANDFUL of WSEH athletes travelled to the Lee Valley Stadium in East London to compete in the South of England U17/15 Championships.

Presho was the best of the quartet, winning the bronze medal in the U17 pole vault with 3.30m.

  • WSEH has added to their tally of county titles won at the Berks Athletics Association (AA) Cross Country Championships with a further victory at the Bucks AA Championships held at Shuttleworth Park.

Alex Goodall successfully defended his senior men’s title when crossing the finish line in 47 minutes and 24 seconds (47.24).

Katie Thompson grabbed the silver medal in the U20 race in 26.36.
