WINDSOR, Slough, Eton & Hounslow Athletics Club contested the National Cross Country Championships at Wollaton Park in Nottingham, returning with bronze medals in the Under-20 (U20) ladies team event.

First home for the club was the in-form Sarah Chapman in 16th place, with Alex Barbour in close attendance in 19th spot. There was a slight gap before Hannah Novakovic appeared in 43rd place, with the team being completed by Isabelle Rayner in 49th. The team winners were Aldershot & Farnham Athletics Club.

There was another good individual run from Dominic McDougall with his 16th place in the U15 boys race, but WSEH were unable to complete a team.

The U13 girls fared well with their eighth place in the team reckoning. Jasmine Young led the way with her 36th place, with Charlotte Dewar in close attendance in 40th. Eloise Harris was the next to cross the finish line in 54th place. The team was completed by Rachel Clutterbuck in 178th. Team winners were Blackheath & Bromley Athletics Club.

WSEH’s largest representation was in the U15 girls race, where six athletes faced the starter. Of these, Amy Young was the first to finish in 33rd spot. Molly Jones was in her wake in 43rd place. The gaps then appeared before Kate Clutterbuck crossed the finish line in 107th place. There were two other athletes, Kate Kennedy in 202nd place and Lily Rolfe in 256th. They ninth were ninth behind winners, the City of Norwich.

WSEH fielded the bare minimum to make a team in the U17 boys race with Jack Goddard leading the quartet home in 57th place, closely followed by Dan Brookling in 60th. Mark Kopernicky was next to finish in 115h place with Matt Daines completing the team in 139th. WSEH were 15th in the team event behind winners Cambridge & Coleridge.

A WSEH trio contested the U17 ladies event where Meg Ormond had a good run for her 20th place.
