A FIXTURE clash with the English School Cross Country Cup regional finals robbed Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow Athletics Club of a number of youngsters for the Chiltern League in Milton Keynes.

Nonetheless, the match was not without its highlights for the club. Charlotte Firth was a clear winner of the senior ladies race, and the men’s Under-20 (U20) side were team winners.

There was a fine run from Simon Millett in the senior men’s race for third in 28 minutes and 29 seconds (28.29).

There was just one WSEH runner in the U15 race with Mark Stringer having a good run for eighth in 15.51.

A slight improvement in numbers for the U13 race saw Noah Fletcher finish fifth and Will Perry Adlam seventh.

The U20/U17 ladies race saw five club runners face the starter. Kathy Ditton led the team home in sixth place with 17.42, swiftly followed by the improving Juliet Soane in 10th with 17.55.

Izzie Rayner was next to cross the line in 15th place with 18.34, followed by Amy Jeffries in 27th and Charlotte Harris in 29th. WSEH were second in the team event.
