BURNHAM have made further progress in the FA Cup this season after a 1-0 win against Bury Town in the first qualifying round on Saturday.

The Blues went into the tie as underdogs with Bury playing their football two divisions above them in the Isthmian Northern League.

It was a cagey affair at The Gore but a close range strike from Daniel Fosu four minutes into the second-half proved to be the difference.

Burnham return to action in Hellenic Division One East with a visit to The Gore from AFC Aldermaston on Tuesday 18th September (7.45pm).

Windsor returned to winning form in the Premier Division following a 6-3 victory away at Tuffley Rovers.

Goals from Malachi Thomas and Daniel Roberts gave the visitors a clear lead at Glevum Park, but Jake Rhodes pulled one back before the break.

Thomas and Robert Lazarczuk extended the advantage further after half-time, before Tuffley came back into the match at 4-3 thanks to a goal from Kieran Alder plus a Mark Pritchett penalty.

Windsor secured the three points with goals from Roberts and Jack Hall inside the final 10 minutes.

The win means Windsor are now up to fifth position in the league table ahead of a trip to Holmer Green on Tuesday (7.45pm).

Windsor turn their attention to the Challenge Cup and a second round tie at home to North Leigh United this Saturday (3pm).

Virginia Water did not have a fixture to fulfill last weekend but welcome Royal Wootton Bassett Town to Stag Meadow in the Premier Division on Tuesday (7.45pm).

Rashid Hamid scored twice to give Penn & Tylers Green a 2-1 home win against Holyport in Division One East on Saturday.

Sam Whitfield pulled a goal back for Port in the final mintue at Spratleys Meadow.

The defeat means Holyport are now in 10th position in the league table ahead of a trip to Wallingford Town on Saturday 22nd September (3pm).

Chalvey Sports have suffered a third straight defeat in Division One East after losing 1-0 away at Chinnor on Saturday.

Chinnor manager Joe Hersey came on after a keeper Ben Taunton was shown a red card and saved a penalty to deny the Stabmonks.

Charlie Surman scored the only goal in the match at Station Road.

The defeat means Chalvey are now down to fourth position in the league table ahead of a trip to Wokingham & Emmbrook on September 18th (7.45pm).
