BURNHAM FC fell to their first defeat of the Hellenic Division One East season after a 2-0 home defeat to Thame Rangers at The Gore.

The Blues, wearing their new kit, were unfortunate to fall behind when an own goal gifted the visitors their lead.

And Pat Buston netted a second for the visitors after the break to secure their first win of the campaign.

Burnham travel to Wallingford Town this Saturday (3pm) then host Chalvey Sports on Bank Holiday Monday (1pm).

Chalvey Sports, were without a fixture last weekend, entertain Thame Rangers at Arbour Park this Saturday (3pm).

Holyport

In the same division, Holyport picked up their first league win with a 2-0 away victory at Didcot Town Development thanks to a Jonathan Feaver brace.

Port took the lead in the 26th minute when Feaver skilfully converted an Alan Akerman assist.

The visitors then kept things tight before Feaver added a second goal on the hour mark, with Michael Davies the provider.

Holyport are without a fixture this weekend.

Maidenhead United

Maidenhead United remain bottom of the National League following a 2-1 defeat at Hartlepool United on Saturday.

Alan Devonshire’s Magpies are still searching for their first win of the new campaign after a disappointing start.

The visitors matches their hosts during a goalless first-half.

But Hartlepool broke the deadlock two minutes into the second period when Luke James headed home.

The home side then saw Peter Kioso fire over from a good position before Nicky Featherston doubled their lead on the hour mark by lobbing Magpies keeper Carl Pentney.

Maidenhead refused to lie down and pulled one back in the 79th minute when captain Alan Massey headed in from a James Comley corner.

But Hartlepool held on for their first victory of the season, much to Devonshire’s frustration.

Maidenhead host Maidstone United at York Road this Saturday in a televised clash (12.35pm ko, live BT Sport).

Thames Valley League

A Ben White double and goals from Danny Pilcher, George Dewhurst and Gary Ashton fired Wraysbury Village to a 5-1 win at Burghfield FC on the opening day of the Thames Valley League Premier Division season.

Billy Margetts grabbed the consolation.

Ashley Searle, Dan Donegan (pictured right) and Ryan Adams netted for champions Reading YMCA in their 3-1 win at Mortimer, James Croft grabbing the reply.

Brandon Baker-Timms and Jon Schaaf goals helped Cookham Dean beat Reading City Under 23 2-1, while debutant Ed Gadd got the only goal as Woodcote Stoke Row won 1-0 at Richings Park.
