WINDSOR, Slough, Eton & Hounslow (WSEH) Athletics Club have successfully retained their status in Division One of the British Athletics League.

The club made the long trip to Liverpool and finished in a respectable fifth place with a total of 294 points.

Harrow won the match with 323 points, with Blackheath & Bromley (314) and City of Liverpool (312) completed the podium positions.

The star performer for WSEH was Deji Tobais, who won both the 100m in 10.36 seconds (secs) and 200m with 21.04secs.

The track events opened well for the club with Tyri Donovan winning the 300m hurdles in 51.38secs. A rejuvenated Andy Clements finished second in the B race in 54.8secs.

The 800m saw Rory Graham-Watson place third in one minute and 55.1 seconds (1:55.01).

It was the same placed achieved by Michael Louise in the 110m hurdles in 15.55secs, with Harry Barnett going one better in the B race in 16.82secs.

Alex Haydock-Wilson usually runs the 400m but switched his attention to the 200m and finished third with a personal best (PB) time of 21.83secs.

Chris Madden made his debut for the club with third position in the 5,000m in 15:00.06.

Another to make an appearance for the club after a couple of years was Sam Hewitt in the high jump, indicating that he has lost none of his edge with a good second place on 1.93m. That allowed David Walker to win the B string with 1.88m.

The long jump produced two third place finishes for WSEH with Sam Challis on 6.92m and Euan Bryden on 6.54m.

There was a similar placing for Teepee Princewell in the triple jump on 14.16m, with the busy Bryden improving to second in the B string with 13.57m.

The meeting culminated on a high for WSEH with a win in the 4x400m relay. The victorious squad included Tyri Donovan, Josh Pearson, Haydock-Wilson and Jacob Paul in 3:15.93.
