SLOUGH 2s are now five matches without a win in Division One after a four-wicket defeat away at Gerrards Cross on Saturday.

The Upton Court Park side have not won since early June and remain in the two relegation spots with seven matches remaining this season.

Slough won the coin toss and chose to bat first but were bowled out for 212 runs off 45.4 overs.

Number eight Syed Waqar Ali Shah top-scored with 60 runs from 48 balls which included six boundaries and three maximums.

Naveed Akhtar made 47 runs batting at number seven and he and Shah put on 90 for the seventh wicket.

Ross Fyfe was the pick of the Gerrards Cross bowlers with figures of 7-42 from 10.4 overs, which included the wickets of Shah and Akhtar.

The other wickets fell to Jonathan Denning (2-62) and Richard Knudsen (1-26).

The visitors reached 216-6 in response and for their fifth win in 11 matches this season.

Number three Andrew Morrison carried his bat through for an unbeaten 96 runs from 119 balls, which included 11 boundaries.

Morrison and Daniel Hampton (28) put on 64 for the third wicket after James Hammerton made 32 opening the batting.

Nadeem Syed was the best of the six Slough bowlers with figures of 2-41 from 10 overs, which included the wickets of Hammerton and Hampton.

Slough 2s return to Upton Court Park for the visit of Falkland this Saturday (1pm).
