COOKHAM Dean made it back-to-back wins at Ricketts Field after a 144-run victory against Henley 2s in Division One on Saturday.

The home team won the coin toss and elected to bat first, reaching 243-7 off 49 overs.

Number four Chris Marrow top-scored with 60 runs in his second half-century of the season.

Marrow put on 117 runs for the for the fifth wicket with Tom Fray, who made 54 before he was given out after hitting his own wicket.

Captain Ben Millar (44) and fellow opening batsman Patrick Castleden (26) added 61 runs for the first wicket before the latter was caught and bowled by Cameron Jacobsen.

Jacobsen was the pick of the Henley bowlers with figures of 4-67 from 16 overs, which included the wickets of the top four Cookham batsman.

Jacobsen was backed up by Alex Johnson (2-48) and Ziafat Ashraf (1-59).

The visitors struggled in response and were bowled out for just 99 runs off 23 overs for their six defeat in 11 matches this summer.

Number five Matt Dalrymple top-scored with 28, but only three other batsman could reach double figures as Yasir Qureshi ripped through the Henley line-up.

The Cookham bowler returned figures of 5-44 from seven hours to take his total of wickets taken for the season to 12.

Qureshi was supported by overseas star Sahan Nanayakkare, who took the wicket of Dalrymple in his 4-39, while Wasim Ahmed chipped in with 1-16.

The win means Cookham Dean remain top of the table and 36 points clear of Cove in second place ahead of a short trip to rivals Stoke Green this Saturday (1pm start).

Stoke Green dropped one place to third position in the league table following their draw at Falkland last weekend.

Stoke won the toss and chose to bat first, the visitors reaching 321-6 declared off 50 overs.

Number five Luqman Butt carried his bat through for an unbeaten 97 runs from just 56 balls at an impressive strike rate of 173.21. His second half-century of the campaign included 10 boundaries and four maximums.

Opening batsman Dan Simpson made 97 runs from 84 balls, including 12 boundaries and four maximums, before he was he was trapped leg before wicket by Graham Beal (1-32).

The best partnership of 127 runs was between Butt and Gagan Singh (41) for the fifth wicket.

Khalid Zafar Malik was the best of the six Falkland bowlers used with figures of 4-98 from 17 overs.

Falkland reached 204-7 off 50 overs in response thanks to Malik (46*), David Bloor (46) and opener Jim Ettridge (32).

Zulfi Butt led the Stoke bowling attack from the front with figures of 3-35 from 20 overs, which included 10 maidens and the wicket of Craig Williams for 34.

Saqlain Basharat claimed 2-24, while other wickets fell to captain Sukh Dhillon (1-22) and Singh (1-50).

Boyne Hill remain in fifth position after an eight-wicket home win against bottom side Reading.

Ziya Mohamed took 3-34 with the ball, before Sajid Ali made 62 runs in the comfortable victory.
