WINDSOR, Slough, Eton & Hounslow won five titles at the national Under 23 and U20 championships at Bedford last Saturday.

Pride of place went to Jake Norris, who had only returned from his United States university three days earlier. He won the U20 hammer with a throw of 80.45m, a new national record and the second best in the world this year.

The silver medal went to Bayley Campbell with 73.42m.

Sam Challis emerged victorious in the U12 long jump with a new PB of 7.11m, while Alex Barbour won the U20 ladies 3,000m steeplechase in 10mins 56.80secs. In the U23 competition, Morgan Lake secured the high jump with 1.90m, while Amy Holder took the discus title with her throw of 54.84m .

There was a silver medal for Tyri Donovan in the U23 400m hurdles, and bronzes for Megan Marrs in the U23 100m hurdles, Tilly Compton-Stewart in the U23 steeplechase, Alex Haydock-Wilson in the U20 400m and U23 hammer thrower Amy Herrington.

WSEH athletes had also made an impact the previous week at the South of England Senior and U20 Championships, where Amy Holder won the discus with 55.48m.

There were silver medals for Alesha Kiddle in the 200m, Marcy Winter in the U20 400m Hurdles and Campbell in the U20 hammer.

Once again the absence of key athletes cost WSEH dearly for their Southern Premier Development League match at Portsmouth. They could only finish fifth and are now in danger of relegation.

In the hammer, there were wins for Liliana Burn (38.00) and Abbi Woodford (19.89). Burn went on to win the discus with 26.78m, partnered to maximum points by Abby Masquelier on 26.16.

Rachel Okoro and Imogen Tattershall won their respective U15 girls long jump events. In the U13 girls Chanel Lovelock was second and Martina Jiminez won the B string. Abbey Masquelier won the U15 75m hurdles in 11.9secs.
