DATCHET are now three matches unbeaten in Division Two this season after a nine-wicket win against Burnham on Saturday.

Datchet won the toss and invited Burnham to bat first at the Wally Gage Memorial Ground, the visitors making just 80 runs all out from 37 overs.

Number six Rizwan Nadeem top-scored with 18, but only Adnan Shabbir (15) and Muddassar Nawaz (13) could also reach double figures.

Oliver Birts led the Datchet bowling attack with figures of 4-23 from 15 overs, including nine maidens, plus the wickets of Shabbir and Nawaz.

Bayley Hall also claimed 4-23 from five overs and took the wickets of the top four Burnham batsman. The other wickets fell to Steven Naylor (1-1) and Tom Lambert (1-32).

The home team reached 81-1 from 15.1 overs in response for the win.

Opening batsman Anthony Moorthoti (10) fell with just 16 runs on the board, before Lewis Smith (16*) and Max Stevenson (39*) saw Datchet to victory with an unbeaten second-wicket partnership of 65 runs.

Hamza Arif was the only one of the four Burnham bowlers used to claim a wicket, taking 1-27 from seven overs.

The win means Datchet have moved up one place to fifth position in the league table while Burnham remain second from bottom and in the relegation spots.

Datchet travel to Harefield this Saturday whilst Burnham can leapfrog Dinton with a win at the Memorial Ground (both 11.30am starts).

Cookham Dean remain top in Division One of the Thames Valley League after a nine-wicket win against Cove on Saturday.

Cove won the toss and elected to bat first at Ricketts Field but could only manage 121 runs all out from 41.1 overs.

Number six Jake Roylance top-scored with 37, while Kazim Naqvi made 23 and Ranitha Liyanarachchi added 20.

Overseas star Sahan Nanayakkare was the pick of the Cookham bowlers with his five-wicket-haul (5-68) from 21 overs, including six maidens.

He was supported by Simret Mangat (3-9) and Wasim Ahmed (2-43).

The hosts reached 124-1 from 18.3 overs in response and for the win thanks to an unbeaten 77 from opening batsman Greg Davis.

He put on 90 runs for the first wicket with Patrick Castleden (27).
