COOKHAM Dean continue to set the pace in Division One of the Thames Valley League this season after a 69-run win against North Maidenhead on Saturday.

North Maidenhead won the toss and invited Cookham to bat first at Ricketts Field, bowling out the home team for 180 runs in 39.5 overs.

Number three Chris Marrow top-scored with 58 after captain Ben Millar (21) and Patrick Castleden (28) put on 52 runs for the first wicket. Jonathan Parker later made 27 batting at number nine.

Sahaan John was the pick of the visiting bowling attack with figures of 4-48. He was supported by Saeed Bukhari who claimed 3-18, including the key wickets of Millar and Castleden.

North Maidenhead were bowled out for just 111 from 30.4 overs in response. John top-scored with 35 runs but only Imran Butt (17), Qamer Shan (13) and Yahya Khan (11) could also reach double figures.

The wickets were shared amongst the five Cookham bowlers with overseas star Sahan Nanayakkare (3-20) and Yasir Qureshi (2-6) the pick of them.

Cookham Dean travel to third-placed Gerrards Cross this Saturday while North Maidenhead, now down to fifth position, return to Summerleaze for the visit of Boyne Hill.

Slough 2s moved up two positions to sixth place in the league table after their 44-run victory away at Boyne Hill.

The visitors won the toss and chose to bat first, making 199 all out from 41 overs. Number three Sajid Hussain top-scored with 49 runs, while opener Yaqoot Rafiq made 38 and Mohammad Awais added 20.

Jay Lloyd led the Boyne Hill bowling attack from the front with a five-wicket haul (5-54), including the key wicket of Hussain. He was backed up by Mudassar Ansari (3-28) and Bilal Asghar (2-46).

The home team were bowled out for just 155 runs from 46.2 overs in response despite a half-century from number eight Simon Carter (55). Sajid Ali made 33 at the top of the order and Warren Miller made 30 batting at number six.

Humza Majid and Hussain led the Slough bowling attack with figures of 3-21 and 3-25 respectively, while Nadeem Syed claimed 2-21.

Slough 2s return to Upton Court Road for the visit of bottom of the table Reading this Saturday.

Stoke Green have leapfrogged Reading to ninth position in the league table after a seven-wicket win against the West Berkshire side.

Irham Mughal took 3-23 and Gagan Singh 3-39 as Stoke took advantage of winning the toss to bowl out Reading for 166 from 50 overs.

The home team closed on 167-3 after 36.4 overs for the win thanks to opener Kabir Parmar (47), Luqman Butt (30*) and Singh (26*).
