CRICKET clubs across Berkshire were left frustrated after rain forced matches in the Home Counties Premier Cricket League to be abandoned on Saturday.

Slough saw their Division One match at Tring Park abandoned after 37 overs with the visitors batting first at 168-4.

Conrad Louth top-scored with 65 and overseas star Shahid Yousaf was unbeaten on 46 when rain stopped play. The pair put on 115 runs for the third wicket.

Fahim Qureshi made 36 at the top of the order, while David Brent was the pick of the Tring bowlers with figures of 2-28.

Slough return to Upton Court Road for the visit of Banbury this Saturday (11.30am start).

Datchet managed to bowl out Wokingham for just 152 runs in 49.1 overs before rain stopped play in the Division Two match at Sadlers End.

Oliver Birts led the Datchet bowling attack with figures of 4-16 from 10 overs, which included five maidens. He was ably supported by Berkshire spinner Chris Peploe (3-19).

Wokingham number 11 Paul Dewick top-scored with an unbeaten 64 as he and Lewis Sharp (17) helped the home team recover from 73-9.

Datchet travel to Dinton this Saturday (11.30am).

Burnham won the coin toss and invited Buckingham Town to bat first but just 36.2 overs were played before rain stopped play at The Memorial Ground.

Buckingham managed 144-4 with Leigh Tomlinson (42) and Jonathan Cater (41*) their top scorers.

Imran Islam led the Burnham bowling attack with figures of 2-39, backed up by Tahir Amin (1-40) and Muddassar Nawaz (1-8).

Burnham make the short trip to rivals Chesham this Saturday (11.30am).

Club were equally frustrated in the Thames Valley League, including Division One leaders Cookham Dean who saw their match at Henley 2s abandoned after 39 overs.

Henley had reached 170-4 thanks to an unbeaten 67 from Ziafat Ashraf and 35 from Chris Ellison.

Wasim Ahmed led the bowling attack with figures of 2-49, with Sahan Nanayakkare (1-23) and Yasir Qureshi (1-17) also taking wickets.

Cookham Dean return to Ricketts Field for the visit of Stoke Green this Saturday (12.30pm).
