WINDSOR, Slough, Eton & Hounslow (WSEH) Athletics Club attracted 200 athletes from as far afield as Manchester and Southampton for the second in the series of Winter Indoor Open Meetings.

WSEH were prominent in the various track and field events with Deji Tobais the fastest athlete present in winning the 60 metre (m) senior race with 6.76 seconds (secs). Aaron Richardson ran well for second place in his race with 7.10secs.

The top pole vaulter for the club is Euan Bryden but he showed a good turn of speed to win over 60m in 7.11secs, while Morris Nganga won his race in 7.63secs.

Ekene Ijeomah was the best of the under-17 (U17) athletes with his time of 7.46secs. Ilan Bisschops dominated the U15 age group with victory in 7.97secs, whilst Jonathan Brew won his race in 8.16 secs.

Alex Pennycooke was second on 8.62 secs but Adam Sfendla was an U13 winner with 8.81secs.

Harriet Jones was the top WSEH senior female athlete with her second place on 7.86secs, with Amber Leigh-Hall clocking 7.91secs.

Anna Croft was second in her 60m U20 event in 8.07secs with Megan Shaw placing second on 8.28secs.

Ayoola Babalola was the best of the U17 athletes with her time of 7.87secs, with Katie Stocker second in her race on 8.74secs.

Versatile thrower Jodie Smith showed a good turn of speed to win her U17 race in 8.10secs. The best of the U15 local athletes was Rachel Okoro, second with 8.45secs.

The 60m hurdles saw Leigh-Hall again in the frame with her senior win in 8.75secs. Croft was an U20 winner in 9.55secs, with Shaw second on 9.64secs and Rachel Melbourne third with 9.88secs.

The Field Events provided more WSEH winners. Ekene Ijeomah took the U17 event with 5.20 metres (m), whilst Ilan Bisschops was best of the U15’s present with his leap of 5.14m.

The best of the WSEH females was Katie Stocker who was the U17 winner with 4.13m.

Jodie Smith scored her second victory of the afternoon to win the U17 Shot with a personal best of 11.03m, whilst Sampda Sharma was second in the U13 age group with 6.59m
