BLUE Swifts have returned to action from the Christmas break with a 32-12 win against Redbacks to remain second in the Premier Division.

A quick start to the game saw super sharp-shooting from Abi Collins and Sophie Georghiou take the Swifts into a seven-goal lead in the first quarter. This fast start would later prove to be the deciding factor in the match at Kidwells Park.

A spirited effort from the Redbacks in the second quarter saw them pull back slightly, but Gemma Lazenby picked up many interceptions with some great defending and the Swifts took a strong advantage into the second half.

It is always a friendly but competitive game between the two sides but Blue Swifts accelerated away and only conceded one goal in the final quarter.

Windsor continue to lead the division and maintained their perfect-winning record this season with a 33-25 victory over Angels.

Magpies have regained top spot in Division One after they were rewarded a 21-0 win when Sevens forfeited the game because they were unable to field an umpire.

Wokingham moved to second position despite losing their match 37-23 against Black Magic. The match winners took an early lead in the first-quarter and steadily increased their goal difference throughout the remainder of the game.

Sparks moved up to fourth place after their comfortable 35-26 victory over Eclipse, while Girl Friday continue to prop up the table after they were beaten 34-17 by Apple Travel Green.
