CHALVEY Sports had no problem playing away to Windsor Great Park who did not register a goal in a 5-0 defeat in the Slough Town Senior Cup second round on Saturday.

Chalvey goals came from Ryan Hazell, Matty Edwards, Billy Bressington (2) and Carlton Chisambara.

Sports Chairman Scott Young said: “We got the win and it was quite comfortable I am not going to lie. We played okay and scored some good goals.

“But it was hard to find our way into the game and I do not know why. It is not they way we want to be but we seemed more comfortable and found our rhythm when the second goal went in.

“Windsor Great Park had more of a go in the second half . In the first 10-15 minutes they started to push at us though I do not remember our keeper making saves to keep them at bay.

“They did not really break our back line and put the keeper under a massive test.

“I am very pleased to get through to the next round. We did not settle until we got the second goal so it was good to win”

“Billy came on and scored two late goals which is good for him. He has come into a good settled side and had to be patient, and I am very happy to have got through.”

Looking ahead to a quarter-finals tie against Frontline, Young said “It is always going to be a tough test against a side from the East Berkshire League.

“Both clubs are from Slough so it will be a competitive end of to end game and both will be looking to knock each other out.

“We will make sure that we concentrate 100 per-cent on the task in hand. This is a competition we take very importantly . It is the community cup for the area and all the sides want to win it.

“We have made the final twice and been beaten on both occasions. The whole football community will come out and watch the final and you could get anywhere between 400-1,000 people at The Gore on Good Friday.

“We want to do our best to get through because we want to win trophies, so it is high on our priorities and it always will be.

“It is just as important as an Hellenic league or cup match because we want to battle on all fronts going forward. We will give it our best shot and make sure we prepare right.”
