SLOUGH 2nds climbed to second in the Division 2b table following a six-wicket win at home to Hurst, writes Jacob Potter.

Naveed Akhtar (4-18) and Syed Waqar Ali Shah (4-67) were the chief destroyers as the visitors were knocked over for 162, and despite Phil Higgs taking 4-66, Slough reached their target in 38.1 overs – Ali Ahmed (57) and Danyal Akhtar the principle run-getters.

Slough 2nds host Aldershot on Saturday (1pm).

Second-bottom Burnham 2nds suffered a four-wicket defeat in their match against Yateley.

Having won the toss, Burnham elected to bat and made 175 all out, with Adnan Shabir top scoring with 45.

Yateley reached this target after 40 overs, largely thanks to Jacques Pienaar’s 82 and Chris Clubb’s unbeaten 45.

Burnham 2nds host Hurst on Saturday (1pm).

In Division One, Cookham Dean remain seventh as they suffered a four-wicket loss to Gerrards Cross.

The Dean started off brightly and were 138-0 at one stage as Ben Millar (77) and Chris Marrow (75) put the hosts in a strong position.

But a mid-order collapse meant they finished on 210-8, and Gerrards Cross reached the target inside 41 overs with Matthew Whitley (79) and Steve Rimmer (30) both still at the crease. Christy Green was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4-70.

Cookham Dean host Henley 2nds on Saturday (1pm).

Stoke Green’s Division One title hopes took a knock as they had to hang on for a draw against Falkland.

Zulfi Butt (7-44) and Irfan Mughal (3-46) did the damage as the visitors were bowled out for 148, but Stoke could only limp to 105-9 in reply.

Stoke Green travel to Marlow this coming Saturday (1pm).

Boyne Hill made it three successive wins as they swept aside Henley 2nds by four wickets to move up to third.

Australian star Matt Leipold was the star for Boyne Hill as he hit an unbeaten 101 to steer his side to victory.

Hamid Riaz also posted a useful knock of 52 for Boyne Hill after Henley concluded their innings on 209-9 after 52 overs.

Boyne Hill face table-toppers Wokingham on Saturday (1pm).

North Maidenhead moved to the top of Division 2a with a comfortable seven-wicket win over bottom side Harefield 2nds.

The cellar-dwellers reached 166-8 off their 50 overs, but the new league leaders made light work of reaching this target, as Imran Butt hit 79 off just 50 deliveries.

North Maidenhead are at home to Chesham 2nds on Saturday (1pm).

Windsor CC beat Bagshot by three wickets to move up to fifth.

Matthew Lazarczuk took 4-37 as Bagshot were bowled out for 143 and Austin Ambrose then produced a defiant 41 not out, whilst Adam Allen-Turner added a useful 36.

Windsor visit Hayes this Saturday (1pm).

In Division 3b, Datchet 2nds sealed a convincing seven-wicket win at Windsor 2nds.

Vinod Kumar took 4-39 and Calum Edgar 3-7 as the hosts were bowled out for 132, and Ben Tyler’s 64 guided Datchet home.

Slough 3rds cruised past Bagshot 2nds to remain third in Division 4a. Bagshot chose to bat, but were bowled out for 100 as Humza Majid ripped through the lower order with figures of 6-23. Slough reached the target inside 20 overs with Sami Kazim not out on 45.

Arvind Sangha took 5-62 for Burnham 3rds (127), but they were thrashed by 134 runs at home to High Wycombe 3rds (261-7 declared after 47 overs).

Cookham Dean 2nds stunned second-placed Farnham Royal in Division 4b as they won by 22 runs.

Richard Lucas proved pivotal as he made 82 in Cookham Dean’s total of 184, but Farnham Royal were looking relatively comfortable in their run chase at 129-3. Farnham Royal host Thatcham Town 2nds on Saturday (1pm).

However, after Eshwar Dutta (63) departed, Farnham collapsed to 171 all out to give as Sav Gandesha took 4-44.

In Division 5b, Slough 4ths beat Chiswick & Whitton 2nds by 31 runs.

Goutham Shrikishna’s 49 helped Slough post 184 all out, and despite some resilience from Chiswick opener Sajid Suleman (66), they were bowled out for 153.

Boyne Hill 2nds maintained their place at the top of the table with a seven-wicket win over lowly Bracknell. William Neal took 4-32 as Bracknell were bowled out for 133, and Richard Hobson’s unbeaten 45 saw them home.

North Maidenhead 2nds kept up the pressure on the top two as they beat Stoke Green 2nds by 42 runs.

North Maids made a respectable 207-9 off their 49 overs as Raja Ifraz Khan took 8-86 in a marathon 25-over spell, and despite Chirag Desai’s 76, Stoke were dismissed for 165.

Farnham Common stunned Division 6a leaders Boyne Hill 3rds with a narrow two-wicket win.

Boyne set their opponents a target of 250 with James Pauffley making 76. In their reply, Farnham opener Randeep Lochab made an impressive 79, and they picked up the victory despite the best efforts of Owen Roberts (6-43).

Farnham Common host Teddington Town 2nds this Saturday (1pm).

Cookham Dean 3rds earned a vital win against Eastcote 4ths to stay eighth. Dan Matthews took figures of 7-54 as Eastcote were dismissed for 144, and Mikey Davis’ 49 helped The Dean home.

Datchet 3rds remain bottom of as they were beaten by seven wickets at home to Burnham 4ths.

Theunis Jackson provided some stern resistance with his 54 runs, but Datchet were bowled out for 132 as Naveed Bashir (6-49) and Adnan Javid (4-47) did the damage. Tej Heer hit 49 as Burnham eased to victory.

In Division 6b, Farnham Common 2nds were thrashed at the hands of league leaders Sonning 2nds.

Rehan Akram made a fantastic 185 Sonning were bowled out for 284, and Farnham never got close to this mammoth target as they were bowled out for 116 with Hasnein Akram taking 5-45.

In Division 7a, Kidmore End 2nds’ (253-8) promotion hopes took a dent as they were held to a draw by North Maidenhead 3rds (207-8).

Datchet 4ths moved up to sixth in Division 8a with a three-wicket win over winless Windsor 4ths.

Windsor reached 196-8 off 47 overs, and despite the best efforts of Windsor’s Paul Woodbridge who took 5-45, Kunal Bajpal’s 52 and Omar Asif’s unbeaten 36 saw Datchet earn a deserved win.

Farnham Royal 2nds made it back-to-back wins as they eased to an eight-wicket success at home to Chalfont St Peter 2nd.

The visitors were shot out for just 133 with Faisal Iqbal taking astonishing figures of 8-39, and Royals reached the target after 22 overs with Ian Pulsford 35 not out.

Slough 5ths (90) suffered their first Division 8b defeat of the season as they were beaten by second-placed Hayes 3rds (91-1).

Boyne Hill 4ths 226-8) remain without a win as they dominated a draw with Gerrards Cross 3rds (123-9). Sajid Mushtaq (100) and Mark Hayes (6-28) were the stars for Hill.

Idris Shafiq cracked a wonderful 93 not out to guide Stoke Green 3rds (149-3) to a seven-wicket win against Beaconsfield 3rds.

Cookham Dean 4ths and table-toppers Wokingham 5ths (216-8) drew their match in Division 9a. Dave Brooks showed some fight for Cookham Dean with an unbeaten 63, whilst a useful 73 from Aaron Calver saw the match end in a draw.

Farnham Common 3rds remain top of Division 9b as they beat Chenies & Latimer 3rd by 44 runs. Zobair Javaid top scored for the league leaders with 54 as Farnham declared on 234-9 and Chenies were bowled out for 190.
