ORGANISERS of Kevin McGoldrick’s testimonial between Slough Town and West Bromwich Albion are aiming to sell out Arbour Park.

The showpiece clash honouring ‘Super Kev’ McGoldrick’s 32 years as Rebels’ physiotherapist takes place at the club’s new stadium on Saturday, July 29.

And with Premier League Baggies providing the opposition for a mouthwatering afternoon’s action, Slough are confident they can fill the venue.

A spokesperson for the organising testimonial committee said: “The primary focus is on selling as many tickets as possible.

“Arbour Park has a maximum spectator capacity of 1,950 and we want to go all out to try and reach this, with all funds going to Kevin.”

Rebels were searching for a way to honour McGoldrick’s unstinting service over the past three decades and more.

His first Slough game was an FA Cup second round replay against Leyton Orient in December 1985 and he has barely missed a match since.

During that time he worked under a host of managers including ex-Rebels player and boss, Dave Kemp.

Kemp is now assistant to Tony Pulis at West Brom and he recently confirmed the top-flight club will send a strong side to Arbour Park for the testimonial match.

McGoldrick was awarded the Get Berkshire Active Lifetime Achievement Award in February for his 32 years in the Rebels’ dugout.
