MAIDENHEAD United have moved within a single point of the National League South title this season after a 3-0 win at Truro City on Easter Monday.

The Magpies recorded their ninth straight victory in the league, extending their unbeaten run to 13 games, and will secure the title with a draw against second-placed Ebbsfleet United at York Road this Saturday (3pm).

Sean Marks scored twice in the first half while Dave Tarpey, the leagues top scorer, hit the crossbar with a free-kick.

Truro's Jamie Richards saw his header cleared off the line in the second-half, before Maidenhead keeper Carl Pentney saved a penalty kick.

Substitute Jordan Cox secured all three points for the league leaders with his first touch in the 72nd minute.
