The Magpies broke the deadlock on 24 minutes when Dean Inman headed home a Dave Tarpey corner.

The home team were well worth their second and got it from record-breaking Dave Tarpey four minutes after the first goal. Sean Marks flicked the ball through to his strike partner who made no mistake with his left foot.

Maidenhead got their third goal in the second minute of time added on at the end of the first half. Welling failed to clear and Remy Clerima picked out James Mulley with a header before the winger volleyed low into the net.

The Magpies remain top of the table by a single point with Oxford City the visitors to York Road on Tuesday (7.45pm).
