WINDSOR produced a masterclass in finishing to beat Abbey Rangers 4-2 at Stag Meadow on Saturday.

The home team made the perfect start with a goal from Kieran Knight after just four minutes. Rangers keeper Liam Stone saw his clearance strike Knight before rolling into the net.

Abbey restored parity on 10 minutes when a shot by Alexander Hendrie from the edge of the box was deflected and beat keeper Hugo Sobte.

Windsor restored their lead when George Gould fired the ball into the top corner from 20-yards in the 27th minute.

The home team looked more composed from that moment and Robert Lazarczuk slid the ball in to Nadir Shafi to make it 3-1 on 42 minutes. Shafi slotted past Stone after out-running a defender.

Knight scored a second of the match seconds before the half-time interval when his low drive from the edge of the area deceived Stone.

There was still time for Rangers to strike the post but Windsor led 4-1 at the break.

Abbey gave themselves a lifeline with 13 minutes to play as good work out wide resulted in Hendrie turning in a great cross.

But, Windsor managed the rest of the match to secure a third straight win and move up to eighth position in the Combined Counties Premier Division table.

Windsor will make the journey to Horley Town on Saturday (3pm).

Holyport have suffered a third consecutive loss in Hellenic Division One East after a 2-1 defeat to Finchampstead.

Finchampstead piled on the pressure after the half-time interval and it paid off as Harry Swabey struck in the 58th minute.

Swabey made it a brace on 63 minutes to give his team the lead.

Holyport never gave up home but the defeat sees them remain second from bottom in the league table.
