A COLOURFUL new addition has been made to the streets of Windsor to celebrate all things British.

RINGING ENDORSEMENT: Lily Cording strikes Timmy Mallett with his trademark novelty hammer at the official welcoming of the 'Ring a Royal' phone box in High Street, Windsor.

A phone box painted by Timmy Mallet featuring The Queen, the Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry and a Union Flag has been installed in High Street.

The 'Ring a Royal' phonebox was officially welcomed to Windsor yesterday and is one of more than 100 phone box designs by renowned UK-based artists on display across the country.

Councillor Alan Mellins, chairman of the Royal Borough's Visitor Management Forum, said: "I have no doubt that this Royal phone box will prove a huge attraction for residents and visitors alike."

The phone box is part of the BT Artbox project to mark the year of the Diamond Jubilee, the London Olympics and the 25th anniversary of the founding of the children's charity Childline.
