Windsor Boys' headteacher leaves school

HEADTEACHER Julian Clauson has left Windsor Boys' School, leaving it rudderless in the last week of term.
Mr Clauson, who was appointed headteacher in 2010, left the school on Saturday after coming to an agreement with the school's governors.
The Observer understands staff unrest was one of the reasons for the departure and the Royal Borough had recently sent Dame Marcia Twelftree, former head of Charters School, in Ascot, to act as a consultant at the school, in Maidenhead Road.
Councillor Tom Bursnall, a governor from 2009-2011, said: "I absolutely whole-heartedly support what Julian was doing with the school. He was making it fit for purpose."
The school is in debt to the tune of £500,000 and Mr Clauson was having to undergo a series of painful cost-cutting measures, including dismantling the expensive management structure put in place before his arrival.
