Town centre to close down for Triathlon

THOUSANDS of people will cheer on competitors when Windsor Triathlon brings the town centre to a standstill on Sunday.

There will be more than 400 race organisers and marshalls patrolling the route, with the first triathletes starting at 6am in Alexandra Gardens.

There will be rolling road closures in and around the town with Drift Road, between its Ascot Road and Winkfield Lane junctions, and Vansittart Road closed from 5-11am.

Eton High Street is closed between Keats Lane and the Thames River Bridge from 7am-1pm, and parts of Arthur Road, Alma Road and Charles Street will be closed from 5am-1pm.

There will be closures on town centre roads including Sheet Street, High Street, Datchet Road, Kind Edward VII Avenue and Thames Street from 6am-1pm.

Clarence Road, eastbound between Clarence Crescent and Charles Street, will be closed from 5-11am and there will be traffic restrictions in place at the A332 Kings Road roundabout.
