THE brainy BBC quiz team, The Eggheads, were defeated by the Windsor based Royal Harmonics last night.

The tuneful team of five, plus one reserve, walked away with £23,000 after coming out on top in questions on politics, food, art & books and, last of all, music.

The Royal Harmonics team, featuring Richard Skilton, Peter May, Ewen Nicoll, Tony Fieldhouse, Ed Beer and Windsor Rachham, were visibly delighted to win the £23,000 - one of the highest amounts in the history of the programme.
