A West Windsor shuttle bus has been launched as new bus timetables come into effect in the Royal Borough.

The council hope the changes will improve punctuality and reliability in the service.

Route adjustments have been made to the number six, operated by Courtney Coaches, from Maidenhead to Windsor, the number 77, operated from Windsor to Heathrow via Slough, and the 7S, operated by Courtney Coaches from Bracknell, via Maidenhead town centre, Gardner Road and Woodlands Park. It no longer stops in Cookham.

A new 'community focused' W1 service will be run by People to Places and is designed to meet the needs of Dedworth residents on its circular route to Windsor town centre. It will serve some areas no longer serviced by the changed routes.

Cllr Phill Bicknell, cabinet member for highways, transport and environment for the Royal Borough, said: "We have listened carefully to residents across the borough and have drawn up these new timetables to help address their transport needs and provide them with an even more reliable service and further improve punctuality.

"I am sure the new West Windsor shuttle will prove to be a popular addition to our bus network and will go a long way to serving residents in the Dedworth area."

Paper copies of the W1 timetable are available at Windsor Library, in Bachelors Acre, the Tourist Information Centre, in Windsor Royal Shopping Centre and the York House council offices, in Sheet Street.
