PLANS were given the thumbs up this evening (Wednesday) to keep 24 hour cover at Windsor Fire Station.

A proposal was made in a Fire Authority meeting to keep the station open around the clock, with the implementation of a "local fire engine" to enable this to happen.

It was agreed by members and consultations will now start, with the changes set to come into force before April 1 2012.
