TWO ladies are hoping they have all the right ingredients as they set up a business in Windsor.

Old friends Jennifer Dawson and Holly Johnson have launched new cake making and treat making company, Awfully Nice, using a kitchen in Priors Road.

The 24-year-olds, create a range of tasty, mouth-watering cakes for birthdays, christenings, weddings and corporate events with a dream of one day opening a cake shop in the town.

Holly, said: "Friends since school we share a slight obsession with the hobbies of a bygone era. We grow vegetables on our allotment, we hold vintage tea parties with cucumber sandwiches and floral bunting and we love perusing seriously old recipe books - the kind our mothers' mothers' mothers used with yellow pages and illustrations instead of photos. But most of all we love to bake.

"We started Awfully Nice Cupcakes because we're really passionate about sharing good old-fashioned home-baked treats that are fresh and delicious, gorgeous and fun."

The former Windsor Girls' School pupils have their own unique collection of colourful treats called Rizzo - which has a 50s dinner theme, Dorothy based around The Wizard of Oz and Betty with a range of tasty tea-trolley treats.

Holly, a qualitative researcher, said: "Since launching the website a few weeks ago we have had some really lovely orders like a woman who lives in Canada got in touch with us and her boyfriend lives in Slough so we took some cupcakes to his office for her. And we are currently planning for a children's birthday party and he loves In the Night Garden so we are working with his mum to make a range of cakes with the characters on them. We pride ourselves on being up for a challenge."

Jennifer, added: "Our company is all about delicious cupcakes and cakes made with locally sourced ingredients and a lot of cake love!"
