IT was a family affair as a painting of one of TV star Davina McCall's ancestors was added to the wall of fame at the Windsor Guildhall.

The portrait of James Bedborough, King George's master mason, former mayor of the town and the Big Brother presenter's great great great grandfather was presented to Mayor Cllr Jesse Grey by Chris Cobb, a family historian, and will be displayed with other past mayors.

Mr Cobb believed for many years it was a large portrait of Mr Bedborough's son-in-law, John Clode, who was also also a former mayor of Windsor.

It was only when Ms McCall researched her family tree as part of BBC One show 'Who Do You Think You Are?' which aired earlier this year that he discovered the image was of Mr Bedborough.

Mr Cobb said: "I wasn't really paying attention until Davina's grandmother produced this photograph of Bedborough which blew our socks of because it was identical to a big portrait we have.

"We thought it was John Clode because in my grandmother's will she had asked for the portrait of 'Sir John Clod' be donated to the Guildhall in Windsor.

"The Windsor Guildhall authorities rejected my mother's offer of the portrait in 1969 because they already had a portrait of John Clode."
