A TERRIFIED couple are living in fear for their safety after drug dealers and addicts invaded their garden.

James and Joy Green, of Church Road, Old Windsor, have spoken of the horror of their personal space being regularly used by sellers and users.

The couple have been astounded to see men and women brazenly jump over the gate into their garden, day or night, hide behind hedges to use and sell illegal substances.

Mrs Green, 50, said: "I am petrified that I am going to go out their one evening and get attacked and they are going to try and come into the house to steal stuff."

Mrs Green's family has been living in the property for 39 years, but says life there has been going downhill since the problem started a year ago. She claims the road has become a hotspot for drug activity and is demanding action.

Mr Green, 49, said: "There is a problem with drugs being dealt down our road. Druggies are hanging around in our garden urinating and waiting to do deals,. My wife's life is in danger here. What if she was confronted by one of these people in the garden with a knife?"

A police spokeswoman, said: "We are aware of the issues and their address has been included in our neighbourhood officers patrol. They have submitted quite a lot of information about drug use in the area which has been passed on to the intelligence team."

The couple have also contacted Windsor Housing, which owns the property, asking for a taller gate to be installed in a bid to keep them out, but the housing association has said it will not replace the gate but has given them permission to replace it themselves.
