PREPARATIONS are in full swing for next year's military spectacular in honour of servicemen and women.

The 2010 Royal Tattoo will be held in the magnificent private grounds of Windsor Castle from May 12 to 15.

The event now in its third year promises to have more attractions than ever before featuring the very best of the UK's Armed Forces as well as invited overseas acts. The Royal Tattoo will celebrate three big anniversaries which fall in 2010; 70 years since The Battle of Britain, 150 years of Cadets and 350 since the birth of The Household Cavalry. Next year will also celebrate the Warrior Covenant between Armed Forces and the Nation.

The grounds will showcase hundreds of military musicians as well as staging some exciting demonstrations of real-life combat situations in Afghanistan.

Event director, Simon Brooks-Ward, said: "It's a real testament to the public that we are once again able to stage the Royal Tattoo at Windsor Castle. Public support has never been stronger and I am sure that the event will be a sell out. This year it's really about paying homage to all the soldiers, sailors and air men who put themselves on the line for the rest of us. This year's Tattoo is in their honour."

Other attractions will include the Royal Navy Field Gun Race back by popular demand. Organisers are delighted to host the competition for a second year, with the Navy's two top Field Gun teams battling it out for the prestigious Land Rover trophy.

The Royal Tattoo will once again be supporting The Royal British Legion, with all surplus profits going to the charity to help provide emotional support to millions who have served and are currently serving in the Armed Forces.

Tickets for the 2010 Royal Tattoo are now on sale. To book call the box office on 0871 230 5570 or visit www.windsortattoo.com. Tickets cost between £20 and £65.
