Big top comes to town

THE big top has been pitched, rehearsals are over and an award-winning travelling circus is ready to dazzle its audience.

Zippo's Circus has taken over Windsor Racecourse for a show full of fire, thrills and excitement.

The famous circus' new production from Cartwheels to Wheels of Steel opened at the racecourse in Maidenhead Road yesterday (Thursday) and will be in place until Tuesday.

The line-up includes Zippo's wild gypsy horses and ponies, trained by Tom Roberts, The Marinhos, high-wire walkers without a safety net and Norman Barrett and his budgie friends.

Other attractions include clown troupe The Konyots, solo trapeze and flip-flopping acrobats, Duo Fusion Ariel Adagio presentation and the daring, dangerous Wheel of Death.

Chris Barltrop, from Zippo's Circus, said: "The audience can expect a very fast and exciting show. It's very high quality and all the traditional ingredients of a really good circus are there; comedy, original artistry and lots of thrills and skills."
