HUNDREDS of excited children were among the crowds who lined the streets to witness the spectacular procession for the state visit in Windsor this week.
Families took advantage of the half term break to make a trip to the town to see the Queen welcome the president of India on Tuesday morning (October 27).
However, all ages packed the pavements along the route which started at Datchet Road and went along Thames Street, High Street, Park Street and into the Great Park for the drive up to Windsor Castle.
From about 10.30am crowds started gathering along the route which was lined with 90 flagpoles flying the Union Jack and Indian flag.
Minaxi Sharma who had travelled from Lascelles Road, Slough, with her daughter Megna, 11, said: "We have come to see the pageantry. We saw the flags flying yesterday and went on the Internet to see what was going on. We saw it was the state visit and thought we would come along."
