A LAND train is set to choo choo its way into Windsor town centre this spring.

The Royal Windsor Land Train, provided by PWR Events in conjunction with the Royal Borough, will travel through the town centre from April.

The new attraction will follow a round route from the coach park in Barry Avenue, through Alexandra Gardens and up past the Castle.

Town centre manager Paul Roach, said: "I'm really looking forward to seeing the land train in Windsor. It will be on a trial basis initially, which will hopefully lead to something more permanent. We have asked for something very traditional which will be in keeping with the town centre."

A spokeswoman from PWR Events, said: "It will be a nice addition to the town and will be great for tourists as well as residents who want to park and then travel up to the high street."

A commentary will also be given during the 15 minute journey on the train, suitable for all weather conditions, which can take up to 72 people and one wheelchair.

A ride on the train will cost £2 per person. An official launch date is yet to be set.
