PRINCE CHARLES will walk Meghan Markle down the aisle on Saturday in the absence of the bride's father.
Kensington Palace confirmed this morning (Friday, May 18) that Meghan had asked the Prince of Wales to do the honours as she marries his son, Prince Harry.
Ms Markle's father, Thomas Markle, is unable to come to the wedding due to health problems, after suffering a reported heart attack earlier in the week.
In statement, Kensington Palace said: "Ms Meghan Markle has asked His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St George's Chapel on her Wedding Day.
"The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms Markle to The Royal Family in this way."
