Hundreds of supporters are expected to take part in the Sunflower Walk through Windsor Great Park this June.

It is all in aid of the Thames Hospice in Hatch Lane, Windsor and will start at the famous Virginia Water lake at 10am on Saturday, June 9.

People who take part in the memory walk can choose a 13k, 6.5k or 4k trail around Virginia Water passing the famous lake, the cascading waterfall and the towering 100-foot Totem Pole.

Alison Evans, head of community and events fundraising at Thames Hospice, said: "The hospice has been providing expert care to the local community for over 30 years and with your support we will continue to give local people quality of life, until the end of life. Please join Team Thames Hospice and sign up today.”

Registration is open now and anyone who books before Monday, April 30 can take advantage of the special early bird offer.

The Sunflower Walk is supported by John Guest and open to all ages and abilities. Walkers registering will get a T-shirt for adults and sunflower deely boppers for children; all walkers who cross the finish line will receive a medal. There will be entertainment and refreshments and for supporters walking in memory of a loved one, there will be an opportunity to leave a message on the special Memory Tree.
