Eton Wick First School is continuing its progress towards becoming an academy.
As pupils returned to the school in Sheepcote Road on Wednesday this week for the spring term, plans were underway for a meeting later this month when Eton Wick's application to join ODST (Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust) will be formally considered by the Regional Schools' Commissioners.
Chairman of governors David Stacey has told parents that if this is agreed the school will join the trust some time this year and that they will be kept fully up to date.
The Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust (ODST) was founded in 2012 to run schools in the diocese which had opted out of local authority control. It now serves more than 3,500 pupils and their families at schools across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Milton Keynes. .
Governors at Eton Wick school consulted with parents over the academy plans and no objections were received, clearing the way for things plans to move forward.
